Private Weaving Workshop, Half Day
Would you like to spend the morning with friends and family, creating together and sharing a new (or not so new) experience? Our workshops are relaxing, fun and a wonderful way to spend quality time together.
This workshop is the same as the full day workshop, You will have time to make something to take home, although naturally it will be smaller than after a full day’s class. They can be tailored to your particular interests, or can be set out purely as something new to experience. Very popular as mother/daughter experiences, visiting friends, or even the whole family. You will be guided through every step, from the basic art of weaving on a floor loom, to creating your own unique piece of fibre art. We have a huge choice of yarns and textures to choose from, what you use is entirely your choice. We will explore various design techniques and at the end of the workshop your weaving is taken off the loom, I show you simple techniques to finish it off and it is yours to keep.
Floor looms are all threaded and ready, so you are free to enjoy the weaving without the warp set up.
No experience necessary. Suitable from ages 5 to 95. As long as you can reach the peddles and gently work them, then you can sit at the loom and weave.
